AI Bots & Knowledge
Create a reusable AI specialist
Configure an AI Bot with a model, instructions, Knowledge, sharing rules, collaborators, and a conversational identity.
Where to open it
Path
Open Network > People, then open Bot management. Select an existing Bot or create a new AI-capable Bot.
What it can do
- Use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, or xAI through owner-configured credentials.
- Load Knowledge from a Textxt topic, selected messages, uploaded files, or pasted text.
- Use a Bot in chats through /ask, share it with approved users, or promote it into an Agent.
Step by step
- Create an AI or hybrid Bot and set its name, role, provider, model, instructions, and response rules.
- Open Knowledge and add reliable sources from topics, selected messages, supported files, or pasted text.
- Test the Bot in a private chat before sharing it or adding collaborators.
- Refresh topic, message, or file snapshots when the source material changes.
Ask an external AI
Paste this prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant that can open public web pages:
Read https://textxt.com/help/ai-bots-and-knowledge and guide me step by step. Use only capabilities documented on that page, ask for missing context, and do not invent buttons or settings.Example questions
- How do I create a Textxt Bot that answers from one customer support topic?
- Which Knowledge source should I use for a PDF policy and a changing Textxt topic?
Good to know
- Topic, message, and file Knowledge sources are snapshots; they do not synchronize continuously.
- Shared Bots cannot expose topic or message Knowledge to a user who no longer has access to the original Textxt source.
- Provider quality, latency, model limits, and attachment support vary by the selected provider and model.
Keep private data private.
Never paste Textxt passwords, OAuth tokens, API keys, private chat exports, or confidential attachments into an external AI just to ask how the product works.
