Notifications

Choose when Textxt should notify you

Control device permissions and chat-level notification behavior so important messages, reminders, and approval requests remain visible.

Where to open it

Path

Open Settings > Notifications for device permission, then use each chat settings panel for chat-specific behavior.

What it can do

  • Enable supported push notification delivery on web, Android, and iOS.
  • Choose all messages, mentions only, mute, and notification sound at chat level.
  • Receive reminders and Agent approval requests that require your attention.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings > Notifications and grant device notification permission when prompted.
  2. Confirm Textxt notifications are also allowed in the operating-system or browser settings.
  3. Open an individual chat settings panel and choose its notification mode and sound.
  4. Keep reminder and Agent approval notifications enabled for workflows that require timely action.

Ask an external AI

Paste this prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant that can open public web pages:

Read https://textxt.com/help/notifications and guide me step by step. Use only capabilities documented on that page, ask for missing context, and do not invent buttons or settings.

Example questions

  • How do I receive only mentions from one Textxt group?
  • Why might Textxt notifications be enabled in the app but blocked on my device?

Good to know

  • Textxt cannot override notification permission denied by the browser or operating system.
  • Muting a chat can hide events that would otherwise be delivered; use mentions only when full mute is too broad.
  • Delivery behavior can vary by platform background restrictions and device power settings.
Keep private data private.

Never paste Textxt passwords, OAuth tokens, API keys, private chat exports, or confidential attachments into an external AI just to ask how the product works.
